The government is optimistic about achieving its goal of eliminating hardcore poverty by 2025.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the target reflected the country's good track record in tackling poverty.
He said Malaysia could emulate China, which recently declared that it had no more hardcore poor people.
He said after opening the Keluarga Malaysia hardcore poverty-eradication programme and launching the 'Menyemai Keazaman, Menuai Kejayaan' book at Dewan Merdeka Tapah here, today.
