I collected a certain amount of pine resin dripping off the bark and dissolved it in isopropyl alcohol to get rid of debris by letting it sink on the bottom. Then, I gradually transferred the solution into a smaller metal container while keeping it hot and allowing alcohol to evaporate together with some turpentine from the resin.
After some time, enough solvent has left the solution to turn the resin into a nearly solid substance.
