On October 20th, the Center for Security Policy hosted Congressman Chip Roy from the 21st District of Texas in a webinar discussion of what the United States faces along the Southern border, mediated by the Center’s Director of Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, Kyle Shideler.
Rep. Roy has been a fearless champion of border security in the wake of the unprecedented crisis on the southern border. He has publicly argued that DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and President Joe Biden should face impeachment for refusing to uphold their oath to faithfully uphold America’s immigration and border security laws. He’s also champed border States, especially Texas, take a more robust role in enforcing the border in the absence of federal action. Roy recently told The Blaze’s Glenn Beck, “We’re at the point right now, where the people of Texas, the people of Florida, we have to start saying no. It’s now time for us to takeover, secure our border, and figure out how we’re going to care for our own citizenry.”
The Center discussed border and immigration security, including the recent crisis in Del Rio, Texas, The Biden Administration’s role in sowing chaos on the border, and other national security priorities with Roy.
