JKNC dominated this state right after Independence. While the credits are undoubtedly to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah whose strong personality cult led to the massive growth of this political party yet other prominent figures like BG Mohammad, Farooq Abdullah, GM Sadiq, Omar Abdullah also consolidated this political party. Sometimes, their actions turned to be dictatorial due to unwavering support from the Kashmiri people! This is a small glimpse of the Jammu and Kashmir Elections History from 1947!
