Almost two months after French government lift the coronavirus lockdown measures in mainland France, French Guiana has seen an alarming spike of Covid-19 cases and measures such as curfews were put back in place. The territory shares kilometres of borders with Brazil, the hardest-stricken country in Latin America. Meanwhile, the situation is “under control” in mainland France, the government says even though 200 clusters were identified.
