Personal Protective Equipment (or PPE) is essential when you are using a chainsaw. Top of that list should be chainsaw trousers and at STIHL, we have three different protective trouser ranges so we have got something for everyone.

First up is our STIHL Function range. For those of you who are only using a chainsaw occasionally for cross-cutting of timber or light maintenance around the garden, we have the Function Universal protective trousers and the Function Ergo trousers. These both have class 1, design A cut protection, which means they have certified cut protective material on the front of the legs only but the STIHL Ergo trousers also have reinforced knees, reflective strips and some handy pockets. They have a more relaxed fit than some of the other chainsaw trousers in our range.

For those of you who use a chainsaw more frequently, but not every day as a professional arborist or forester, then our STIHL Dynamic chainsaw trousers could be for you. This range is ideal for farmers or landscapers, or even homeowners with a lot of land.

There are more protective trouser options available in this range too. It includes design A trousers with front protection only, design C trousers with front and back protection, and a bib and brace style of trousers too. The STIHL Dynamic trousers are breathable, water resistant, and are made from thorn and tear-resistant materials. These are also designed to have a fairly relaxed fit.

If you are a professional chainsaw user, then the STIHL Advance range of chainsaw trousers is what you’re looking for. Made with AVERTIC™ pro-lite cut protection material, which has been developed exclusively for STIHL, these all have flexible fibres for greater freedom of movement. There are three different versions, STIHL X-Light, X-Flex and X-TREEM.
