This simulation is of a coalescing filter, where the aim is to coalesce small liquid particles into larger droplets to aid separation. (an example being separation of water from diesel).
The model was developed based on a DPM model, with a change to volume of fluid representation as the particles coalesce. The simulation was developed using OpenFOAM, with a custom model for coalescence and change to VoF. (as a further development of the model used for [ Ссылка ] )
