In this video I show you how you can turn an 80's basket into a vintage style french market basket that looks like you found it while thrifting in Europe. Well that might be a little dramatic but you get the drift.
In just four easy steps you can take your dated basket from 80's to Old World charm. This technique is so simple and only requires a few supplies.
1.Stain of your choice
2.Inexpensive foam or synthetic brush
3.Paper towels
4.Clear spray sealer
5. White chalk paint (I use DIY white swan) You could actually use any shade of white or very light grey
6.More paper towels
7.Sand paper
These dated baskets seem to be plentiful in the thrift stores and yard sales, they are pretty cheap too! So grab you a couple next time you are out thrifting and try out this technique.
