Orion Heating now use this method for lighting all fires in the shop. It works perfectly, keeps the glass clean and most importantly needs no fiddling for one hour after lighting.
The fire in this video is a Barbas 80/50 Woodburning stove. An excellent Dutch 'built-in' woodburner with a wide output range upto 20kW.
If things get a bit boring skip to the end to see the clean glass and well established fire after one hour. I reload the stove with logs and they ignite in seconds, ready for another couple of hours of uninterrupted burning.
