The outstanding individual performance of the match undeniably came from Marius Joubert, who scored a hat-trick of tries to equal a record in Bok matches against New Zealand. After trailing 10-0, Joubert started the fight-back for the Boks by scoring his first of the day. After a great try from Breyten Paulse, Joubert had been sent in again after some clever work by Joe van Niekerk and a sharp break from De Wet Barry. Joubert again scored to complete his hat-trick, to secure a bonus-point win with something to spare.
