Mechanized infantry will be replacing their old M2 Bradley with a new remote controlled Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle. The US Army will be spending a projected $4.5 billion in total on the program. 5 companies are in the competition including the usual suspects and a scrappy new face. 2028 is the project first year that units will get the new vehicle. Infantry will be transported to the battlefield either the Lynx KF 41, Griffin III, Redback IFV, or the CV 90.
With companies like Raytheon, Rheinmetall, Textron, General Dynamics and Oshkosh it's exciting to see what they'll cook up in the defense industry.
Each of these infantry fighting vehicles will have better armor, higher firepower and more mobility than its predecessor. Find out why the army is replacing the Bradley and what new vehicles are in the running. This will be a companion armored personnel carrier to the M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank.
