Vintique Motors is thrilled to present this incredible 33k-Mile 1984 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade 4x4.
The CJ has had quite the impressive lineage of service and use to the U.S. and the off-road enthusiast community starting with the WWII-era 1944 CJ-1 and culminating with the 1986 CJ-7. In total more than 1.5 million CJ's were produced over its illustrious 42-year production. The CJ-7 was the successor to the CJ-5 and was introduced for the 1976 model year. It was designed and intended to be a more refined and practical Jeep as it featured a wheelbase 10" longer, an optional automatic transmission, squared off cab entry for hinged doors, improved handling, and stability through the longer wheelbase as well as two parallel main C-section frame rails, and springs and shock absorbers located closer to the outside of the body. The improvements were well received and nearly 380,000 CJ-7's were built between 1976-1986.
This example is optioned with the Renegade package and is presented in its original color combination of code P1 Classic Black, which is believed to be largely original, over code 4EB Garnet Red denim vinyl high back bucket seats. It was assembled at the legendary Toledo, Ohio factory and features desirable factory options such as the 258ci 4.2L inline 6-cylinder engine, a 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, and hardtop with steel doors. This example has just a handful of modifications consisting of Mopar fuel injection conversion, a Borla muffler, a 2.5" suspension lift, modern R-134a air conditioning, 32" BF Goodrich tires on factory 15" wagon wheels, and a removable bikini top.
It was sold new at People's Garage Chrysler Jeep in Skowhegan, Maine and delivered on 9/16/1983. Based upon documentation it remained with the original owner for the next 22 years in Maine. Then upon the original owner's passing it was acquired from the estate by Collins Brothers Jeep in Wylie, Texas in early 2005 with a reported 20,904 miles. Collins Brothers gave it a full service and is then believed to have sold it to its second owner from Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2005. Five years later it was acquired by its third owner from New Albany, Ohio on 2/12/2010 with a reported 25,452 miles. On 11/23/2011 it was acquired by Champion Auto Group of Westerville, Ohio with a reported 28,291 miles and subsequently sold it to its fourth owner of Chardon, Ohio on 11/29/2011 with a reported 28,293 miles. On 3/25/2020 it was acquired by its fifth owner of Vail, Arizona with a reported 30,104 miles. On 11/30/2021 we acquired it from the fifth owner with 33,189 miles and today it presents with 33,200 miles.
It comes complete with the original keys, owner's manuals, window sticker, build sheet, brochures, service history documentation from new, and previous ownership documentation. Don't miss this opportunity to acquire this documented-from-new '84 CJ-7 Renegade in a highly desirable color combination as finding well-kept and documented examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
