Dr. Yershova is a Deputy Scientific Director of the Center for Suicide Risk Assessment at the Columbia University Medical School. She earned her doctorate from UC Berkeley and completed her clinical training at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. She led the psychometric validation work for the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (Posner et al 2011), publishes on suicide risk and pediatric ADHD and collaborates on the national treatment studies of suicide and ADHD, including the Treatment of Adolescent Suicide Attempters (TASA) and Preschool ADHD Treatment Study (PATS). Her collaborative report on the long-term outcomes of preschoolers with ADHD was recognized with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Elaine Schlosser Lewis Award. As a clinician, she has worked in outpatient, in-patient and emergency services and conducted field assessments for state and international programs. Dr. Yershova teaches developmental psychopathology and supervises psychiatry and psychology trainees at Columbia.
The 12th annual Yale NEA-BPD conference addressed advances in assessment and treatment of individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder who struggle with suicidality, as well as resources for providers working with suicidal individuals. The conference addressed assessment and interventions aimed at individuals and families, as well as consumer and family member perspectives.
