I've genuinely forgotten what it's like to feel good. No, not even just good - I've genuinely forgotten what it's like to feel NORMAL.
For 2 years I've been struggling and fighting, searching for diagnoses and trying countless medications and diets and doing everything "right," hoping my body might stop hating me for just a little while. And now suddenly, for the first time since chronic illness became a central part of my life, it actually seems to be working!
So now I'm here, in this weird place of learning how to be a chronically ill person without feeling chronically ill. Is my experience still valid? Do I still have anything to offer anyone? Am I still considered "sick"? I'm still processing through all these feelings and working on answering these questions (for which there may not even be answers!), but I wanted to put it out into the open in video form for all of you to see and hear. Because what better place to be vulnerable and bear your insecurities than on the Internet? Amiright??
