To be clear, there is no right or wrong way to begin a painting. However, I have a habit of jumping in with lots of details first and later wishing I had started with a background - literally ANY background. Haha! Today, I decided I'd do my future self a favor and explore the background FIRST in these to sketchbook paintings.
