KGB Headquarters (Lubyanka Building, Moscow 1919 - 1992)
Lubyanka is the popular name for the headquarters of the Soviet State Security bodies from 1919 to 1992 on Lubyanka Square in Moscow, Russia. Lubyanka was originally built in 1898 as the headquarters of the All-Russia Insurance Company. Following the Bolshevik Revolution, the structure was used from 1918 for the headquarters of the secret police, then called the Cheka and a prison which operational in 1920.
