Art History in Focus March 2022

Dr Silvia Davoli is Curator at Strawberry Hill House and a specialist in the history of collecting. She co-curated the exhibition Lost Treasures of Strawberry Hill. Masterpieces from Horace Walpole's Collection (October 2018 - February 2019). Silvia is also Research Associate at the University of Oxford and Associate Editor of the Journal of the History of Collections. Silvia has curated the exhibition The Grand Tour, the two Horaces and the Court of Florence (1740-1786) opening at Strawberry Hill on 24 March until 24 July 2022.
Emanuela is an Art Historian, and Vice-Chair of the Board of London Art Week. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and specialises in European Paintings and Sculpture from the 15th to the early 19th centuries. Between 2014 and 2021 she was Gallery Director at renowned art dealers Tomasso in London, where she organised exhibitions, including joint shows with fellow art dealers and contemporary artists, authored exhibition catalogues, and regularly hosted talks and gallery tours. She is currently collaborating with Strawberry Hill House on the upcoming display dedicated to Horace Walpole's sojourn in Florence: The Grand Tour, the two Horaces and the Court of Florence (1740-1786).
