It's #NationalScienceWeek! To celebrate we've compiled a special episode of BTN Newsbreak about all things science.

CITIZEN SCIENCE
There's science everywhere we look, but the trouble is, scientists can't be everywhere at once keeping track of the world around us. That's where citizen scientists come in and the Australian Museum says it's seen a massive increase in online volunteers during COVID-19. Researchers say it's really helpful to have the public recording everything from the animals in their backyards to what insects are hanging around in certain areas. Since 2011, more than 4 million items from the museum have been analysed and more than 2 million of those were in the last month! So even though some of us can't go out and explore right now, there's still plenty of science to be done from the comfort of your couch.

SATELLITE SELFIE
Ever wished you had a 770 kilometre long selfie stick? If your answer is, well, I guess, but it's so oddly specific a question I've never actually considered it - well, you're in luck. This week is your chance to get a satellite selfie! People in the ACT and Northern Territory have been invited to head outside for a giant photo taken from space. A satellite's flying over a total of 3 times and lots of people have already taken part. Your last chance is tomorrow between 10:09AM and 10:19AM.
