Back once again, Rory Duffy delivers another shock to the industry, divulging even more of Savile Row’s tailoring secrets to the world in a low-cost video series!

Focused on ladies jacket making, Rory takes his subscribers from pattern drafting to a finished garment.

Rather than loading the deck in his favour, Rory makes a fitting for his beautiful assistant using the standard draft measurements. This forces Rory to face the challenges faced by many of his students – fitting the jacket to the figure.

On his first fitting, he quickly notices several alterations that need to be remedied. When he reaches the “Fit Bar Finish” fitting, it’s still apparent that he has to go back and undo a lot of the work he was hoping to be done with.

This is as real as it gets. Rory wanted to do something new by presenting his ladies jacket making series, giving the viewer an insight as to how even industry professionals don’t get it right every time. If they did, then why would they insist on at least two fittings?

Since many of our followers feel they are often taking one step forward and two steps back, Rory has shone the light on a reality that everyone struggles sometimes and it’s this struggle that in the end will make us all better handcraft tailors.
