Hundreds of Romanian couples who have been married for at least half a century gathered together to celebrate their golden milestone on Monday.
Some 600 participants enjoyed a three-course lunch and dancing at the Crystal Ballroom in the capital, Bucharest.
Bucharest's fifth district town hall, who organised the event, also gave couples who have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 1,000 lei (255 US dollars) as a gift.
When asked what the secret is for a long and happy marriage, 78 years old Liciniu Agapi, married for 52 ½ years, said there was no "recipe" for success, but said a lifetime of happiness came with "small hiccups" along the way.
