Days after violence erupted in Sambhal over a court-ordered survey of a Mughal-era mosque resulting in the death of 4 people. Now, fresh tensions have surfaced in the district. This comes after the administration fined the imam of a mosque with ₹2 lakh for allegedly using a loudspeaker at high volume during Friday prayers. The alleged incident in question occurred at the Anar Wali Masjid in the Kot Garvi area. Officials reported that loudspeakers were used despite clear orders prohibiting their use at high volumes. Vandana Mishra, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) stated that the action was taken as a precautionary measure to maintain peace and order keeping in mind the recent violence.
