From Ep #157: LARRY WILMORE had been nominated for an Emmy for his writing on "In Living Color" shortly before his appearance here. He was also one of the best young comedians working on the scene at this time.
Larry references material about the recent LA riots - during which truck driver Reginald Denny was pulled from his truck and beaten at a stop light on the corner of Florence & Normandie Streets. He also refers to Arsenio Hall's late-night talk show - a mega hit which was making big waves at the time.
Larry's talents and intelligence have always been clear to fellow comedians - long before his current gig on "The Nightly Show."
His reference to computerized phone call systems was actually topical in 1992, believe it or not.
