This has to be the worlds must relaxing sound. Hearing that relaxing natural sound of wind blowing through a aspen forest. This calming sound makes me sleepy. I love to listen to the sound that comes from the sparkling aspen leaves when I have a have a hard time to fall asleep.
On windy days aspen leafes shimmering in the wind. The reason to why aspen leafes trembling in the wind is that the leaves have laterally flattened stalks. This flattened stalks makes the leaves move in the slightest breeze.
In the world there exist six species called aspens: Chinese aspen (Populus adenopoda), Korean aspen (Populus davidiana), Bigtooth aspen (Populus grandidentata), Japanese aspen (Populus siebodii), Eurasian aspen (Populus tremula) and Quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides).
