People's Arts in alternate & flexible spaces by the artists of Delhi & NCR is the focus of NDFF. The festival encourages avant-garde performances & showcasing, looking forward to create more voices from the margins. We deliberately wish to only use spaces/locations outside the domain of the so-called centre of arts, believing firmly that art resides in people & not centres.
"Begum & her Hookah – a heritage walk in Shahjahanabad / Chandni Chowk"
Join us as we excavate the little known stories of the women who through the changing and often challenging times have continued to enrich the city’s historical and cultural landscape. We will meander through streets around the Chandni Chowk area, sharing stories of Begums, shadows Empresses, Nautch girls, Milk mothers, Havelis and Harems.
As we walk the by-lanes of Shahjahanabad looking for stories of the bygone era, making the women who shaped the city and its history our focus, we will also make you relish some delicious snacks as a part of this Purani Dilli heritage experience.
