Ulduar Hodir - Wrath of the Lich King - Ulduar Raid Boss Guide

Today we will check out the Boss Hodir of the Second Raid of Wrath of the Lich King Ulduar.

During the Boss fight there are 8 NPCs frozen in ice. They all represent a specific class. Generally you want break them in this order: Mage, Druid, Shaman, Priest. you can free them by simply dpsing the ice.

Mages can conjure toasty fire which negates the stacking debuff of biting cold and freeze around it. This allows casters to stand still without worry. The fires also give the ability to stack singed on the boss dealing a bit of fire damage and increasing the damage taken by 2% stacking up to 30 times.

Druids cast Starlight - standing in that starlight beam increases attack and casting speed.

Shamans buff some players Storm Cloud which increases the critial damage by 135%

Priests cast Great heal and dispel Magic freeing players from Freeze

Once the fight starts you start building up biting cold stacks so keep moving or jumping to reset the stacks or move close to a toasty fire. Take care: Bonfires can be destroyed by falling ice and flash freeze

Hodir casts Frozen blows after which the tanks have to swap each time.
Icicles fall from the ceiling consistently make sure to avoid those white rings on the floor.
He sometimes casts Freeze at a random playing rooting them on the spot - dispel them as soon as you can.

Sometimes Hodir casts Flash Freeze. This cast takes 9 Seconds. During this time lange Icicles start falling down leaving behind a large snow mound. Stand on top of that and you are safe from Flash Freeze if not your dead.
