The Colosio family has been cautiously critical of the official investigation, indicating that not much has been done to hunt the real killers.
The killing was one of three high-profile assassinations that have rocked Mexico. In September 1994 the Secretary-General of Mexico's ruling party, Jose Francisco Ruiz Massieu, was shot outside his hotel in Mexico City. His killer received a 50 year prison sentence today.
