Hello everyone and welcome back to the series of Forza drag races. This time we have a requested drag race, it is a race between the McLaren F1 and the Saleen S7, two of the most iconic, and powerful fast supercars, lets take a look at their specifications before we race them.
Starting off with the 1993 McLaren F1. Typically a RWD super car by McLaren, but that's not just it. But it is also McLaren's first ever on-road going production car. The F1, a car that is still loved by most of car enthusiasts today, was "the" supercar. It was famous for its top speed record in 1998 with a top speed of 240 mph (386 kmh), surpassing the RUF CRT2's old record of 217 mph (350 kmh). Only 106 total units of the F1 were produced. Until 2012, where the P1 was unveiled as the successor to the F1 and was put in production between 2013 and 2015. The F1 was designed by Gordon Murray and Peter Stevens, and it features a BMW-soured 6.1L Naturally Aspirated V12 codenamed S70/2. It produces 627 bhp and 480 lb.ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-Speed Manual Transmission, and thanks to the usage of the complete carbon fiber reinforced polymer, and the golden foil that acts as a heat shield to the exhaust compartment in the engine itself, it all resulted in the F1 to be as light as possible, that's why it weighs at just 1288 kg.
Now lets move onto the 2004 Saleen S7. The unforgivable experience, the S7 is a RWD supercar that was developed only in 18 months by Saleen in collaboration with British automotive supplier RML Group. Also the S7 was conceived to elevate Saleen's status from a car tuner to an automotive manufacturer. Using a 7.0L Naturally Aspirated Ford V8, it produces 575 bhp and 570 lb.ft of torque, power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-Speed Manual Transmission, and it also weighs at just 1250 kg.
Now with all the specifications given, lets line these two legendary supercars down in Forza Horizon 4 and find out the outcome.
Huge shoutout to my partner ZemFlo97 for making this race possible!:
