Sree Krishna is worshipped as Vitthal at Pandharpur in Maharashtra, believed to be the holiest of holy pilgrimage in Kaliyug. It is believed that annoyed by Sree Krishna, his wife Rukmani went to Pandharpur. When Sree Krishna was on his way to meet her, his devotee stops him and He stops there to listen to him. The Vitthal Rukmani Temple was built where the deities stopped.
