First World War: What would happen if USA had join the Central Powers, instead of the Entente, in 1917?

USA entered war in 1917 at Entente side, for several reasons.
American banks had lent huge sums of money to Britain. If Britain lose the war, they fear they might never get the money back.
But with post war reparation, they could have all their money back.

Britain and France were the US's largest trading partner.
But trade with the US was vital to Britain and France too, and would not automatically cease just because they had to make a peace treaty.

And American corporations want to sell weapons and other material to both sides - and not just to the British and French.

The German sank the Lusitania, on 7 May 1915, killing 128 Americans
But Lusitania was a british navy carrying munitions in a war zone, using American passengers as human shields.

Another reason, British controlled the information, and turn USA in the direction of the Entente.
British propaganda invented German war crimes in Belgium and elsewhere, sometime using photo from Russian revolution.

For a long time the US was sympathetic to both sides, There really wasn't a clear cut bad side or good side.

The main goal of USA was to become the first world power.
And in 1914 British empire was the dominant power.

What if USA leaders decide that Germany is the wrong enemy?
