- What kind of biennial is needed in Beijing?

About Nader Tehrani
Nader Tehrani is an Iranian-American designer and educator. He is the Dean of the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at the Cooper Union in New York, and previously a professor of architecture at MIT, where he served as the Head of the Department from 2010 to 2014. He has taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Rhode Island School of Design, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Toronto. He is also Principal of NADAAA, a practice dedicated to the advancement of design innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and an intensive dialogue with the construction industry.
Tehrani’s work has been recognized with notable awards, including eighteen Progressive Architecture Awards, AIA Cote Top Ten Award in 2019 and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award in Architecture in 2007. He is also selected as the recipient of the 2020 Arnold W. Brunner Memorial Prize, an award which is given “to an architect of any nationality who has made a significant contribution to architecture as an art.
