IN THIS VIDEO:
Let me say this first: I love playing VR. I play with my Oculus Quest 2 frequently. As an Eye Doctor, I have to ask some important questions: Is Virtual Reality bad for your eyes? Is the oculus quest bad for your eyes? Are there any short term or long term eye problems I will give myself by using virtual reality?
Here are the 4 tops I discuss in the video:
1. Digital Eye Strain and Dry Eye: Short term problems will happen with eye strain and digital eye strain. There are potential problems with chronic and long term dry eye problems if your meibomian glands in your eyelids will atrophy.
2. Vergence-Accommodation Conflict: Our eyes posture (convergence and divergence) are usually linked with our accommodation (focusing). In VR, accommodation and vergence have a hard time working together and can cause problems.
3. Blue Light: Discussed more detail in another video, but I give a quick review of that video.
4. VR and Vision: Does VR make our vision worse?
