🔥💨 David Popovici burst onto the scene in 2022, securing both World and European medals. The 2022 European Aquatics Championships was a historic event in what would turn out to be a huge year for the Romanian swimmer.
Popovici dominated in the freestyle events, securing gold in the 100m and 200m - but gold wasn't his biggest achievement. After breaking the 100m Freestyle Championship Record and World Junior Record in the prelims, David Popovici broke the World Record with the fastest-ever split at the time.
