64 people who have died trying to reach the summit of Nanga Parbat. And this is out of only 287 summit attempts. That means 22 percent of people who attempt Nanga Parbat lose their lives - and most will end up staying in the mountain’s cold embrace for the rest of their lives. To give you a comparison, only 4 percent of climbers on Mount Everest lose their lives.
