If you plan on upgrading from SLA batteries to Lithium, DO NOT DO IT without getting yourself a volt meter that plugs into your charging port. Without this, you won't really know what your voltage is, and you won't be able to tell when your battery is about to die. Standard battery meters are calibrated for a linear discharge curve which SLA batteries have. Lithium batteries, and LiFePo4 batteries, have a very different discharge curve. When a Lithium battery loses voltage, it basically holds steady until the very end of the charge cycle. So unless you can visualize the voltage discharge, its going to be a guessing game to know how many miles you have left. This volt meter is not going to be the perfect solution, but at least you will have a read out of your voltage to go off of. When the read-out on the volt meter shows 25 to 26 volts, you better think about staying close by or at least have a charger with you.
