An automatic half barrier level crossing located on a quiet road near to the village of Gomshall in the Surrey Hills. For such a quiet location, both of the alarms here are very loud, and both of these are fairly new since both were installed in late 2020 to replace one flat-tone 'YO5 Yodalarm' and another 'YO3 Yodalarm' which strangely took the place of the working alarm of the former type. Both of these alarms appear very loud in this quiet location, though they're actually comparatively quiet compared to the noise levels from previous alarm pairings here.
This level crossing also has twin-arm Mk1 half barriers, which are an early example of barrier design and remain at this level crossing to the day of filming. The barriers and their assemblies are made of concrete. Both of the alarms silence when these barriers are down as the alarm mechanism is fairly old. Some of the wigwags here are also a little mossy due to the trees and shrubbery that surround this level crossing.
In the second video, a class 166 is seen passing which still sports the livery and branding of the former First Great Western franchise which is now Great Western Railway.
Thanks for watching!
