We rely on pictures to inform us, to entertain us, and to document history. We easily recognize people and objects in a picture. We trust and are comfortable with pictures. Hany Farid, the William H. Neukom 1964 Distinguished Professor of Computational Science at Dartmouth College, shows us that pictures are not always to be trusted and the human eye is the least equipped to tell the truth.
