Due to the threat posed by Omicron, India is to postpone the resumption of commercial international flights, which was scheduled to commence on December 15. The aviation authority, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has delayed the start of scheduled international flights until December 15, with an effective date to be determined later. Following the announcement of the new COVID variation, the aviation regulator DGCA announced on Wednesday that scheduled international flights would be delayed until December 15, citing a "changing global landscape." Last month, the government decided to bring international air operations back to normal. Since March 2020, scheduled international flights to and from India have been prohibited due to the coronavirus outbreak.
