The San Antonio Spurs won 58 regular season games and earned a No. 2 seed in the 2001-2002 NBA playoffs. With David Robinson missing the majority of the first round and Tim Duncan missing a game himself, the Spurs were pushed to the brink in their best-of-five series against the Seattle SuperSonics. With the 36-year-old Robinson continuing to battle back issues, San Antonio never quite regained their footing, falling to the Los Angeles Lakers four games to one in the second round.
