Wendi Adelson had her deposition taken in July 2019 at the Miami Public Defender's Office by Katherine Magbanua's attorneys, Tara Kawass and Christopher DeCoste. Magbanua, who was an ex-girlfriend of Wendi's brother Charlie Adelson, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for being part of a murder for hire to kill FSU law professor Dan Markel (Wendi's ex-husband).
This is different from the deposition Wendi Adelson gave as part of her Leon County family court case before her ex-husband Dan Markel was shot and killed on July 18, 2014. Her family court case deposition was reenacted on @MentourLawyer in a video titled "The Hitman Option." At this July 2019 deposition, Wendi Adelson was represented by her attorney, John Lauro. Prosecutor Georgia Cappleman was also present. In part 1 of the reading of the transcript, Susan of @truelifestyles and Joel Waldman of @SurvivingTheSurvivor @SurvivingTheSurvivorTrials read the lines of Kawass, DeCoste, and Lauro, and Judy the YouTube Lawyer read Wendi Adelson's lines. This was a livestream show that originally aired in fall 2022. Since then, Wendi's brother Charlie Adelson has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison for his role in Prof. Dan Markel's murder. Their mother, Donna Adelson, was arrested a week after Charlie's convicted as she tried to depart the country to get to Vietnam with her husband Harvey Adelson. Donna Adelson's trial will begin with jury selection on 9/17/2024. Wendi Adelson has been named by the State as a co-conspirator but has not been charged with any crimes so far. Her father Harvey is also suspected by some of being involved in the murder plot.
