Mount Kanaim (Zealots Mount )is in the Judean Desert, near the town of Arad and the Dead Sea. It is not far from the Masada fortress. Its name comes from the Jewish zealots and their families who sacrificed their lives, rather than fall slaves to the Roman army. The other side of the mountain has a lovely view of the Dead Sea and the desert.
Climbing gets difficult towards the top and descending even more so.
