This conversation focused broadly on historical methods by examining
the different ways these three scholars approach their sources
(psychiatric records, genetic science, dust on teeth), using them to ask
much bigger questions about society (violence, nationalism, craft and
occupations). Because the work of all three connects in different ways
with scientific disciplines – whether through methods or sources – this
was also be a chance to consider the wider relationship between history
and science.
