"Sentimental Journey" is a look at events on Captiva Island during the years of America's involvement in WWII. The stage-production salute featured live music and theatrical narrative based on audio recordings, newspaper articles, images from our archives, and inspiration from the book "Tales From the Rain Barrel, The War Years" by Ken Sushil and Rita Sushil Dilks-Wolfe. Captiva Island Historical Society's archivist Queenie Viglione Jensen wrote the program, which was presented to a full house audience on December 7, 2021.
SInger-songwriter Austin Church portrays the fictional character Vernon Arnold and performer Terri Schafer provides vocal accompaniment while playing era-themed songs on her keyboard.
