Dozens braved the cold weather and swam into the chilly waters of Vltava river in Prague as part of an annual tradition.
Each year on the day after Christmas, swimmers compete in 100, 200 and 300 meters (328, 656 and 984 feet) races.
Some of them have trained all year long for the competition.
One of the competitors this year was Jiri Kurina, who got into polar swimming after practicing long distance swimming, which requires the competitor to train in progressively colder water.
Kurina said he has a "very positive feeling" after getting out of the cold water.
Jiri Neuman, another swimmer, said he plunged into the cold waters to get closer to nature.
The temperature in the river was around zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) during the competition.
The traditional competition marked its 68th edition this year.
