The City Council met on Monday the 31st for a budget worksession.
The Mayor, City Council, and City Staff worked to allocate funds for operating expenses across various departments and services. The upcoming budget for fiscal year 2023 recommends lowering taxes—to a tax levy of $10.01—which is a 10-cent reduction to the current levy. The new budget also recommends 12 new full-time positions, including three new firefighters/EMTs, a police officer, and positions in various departments to help accommodate Urbandale’s continued growth.
