Italy Vlog episode 6: Tuscany is famous for many things and wine is one of them. So of course we had to plan to take a closer look (and taste) at them. Montepulciano, the region we were staying in, produces some of the best wines in Italy. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is popular all over the world. It also comes as a Riserva, which is aged for longer and then there’s Vino Rosso, which is a younger wine. But they are all delicious!
In this video we visit the Boscarelli winery, which produces some of the best Vino Nobile in the region (according to international wine critics!). We had a really nice guide, who showed us around the winery and vineyards and explained the wine making process. In the end we also tasted four of their wines, which we liked a lot. Having left the car at home, we then walked through the midday heat to the town next to us to get some Pizza. All in all this was a great day in Tuscany, as it allowed us to connect a bit deeper with the countryside.
In the previous episodes we spent some days eating and sightseeing in Rome, rented a classic Fiat 500 and drove to the Le Marche region in Italy, before heading off to Tuscany. We explored the beautiful towns of Montepulciano and Pienza, as well as famous Tuscan dishes and Pecorino.

In Tuscany we’re staying close to Montepulciano and San Gimignano, but we’ll also explore many more towns from there, such as Siena, Pienza and Volterra. Our road trip ends in Florence, where we’ll also spend a few days sightseeing and trying out food specialities.
