(15 Jun 2020) The UK Prime Minister has said that a new cross-governmental commission for black and ethnic minorities will soon be announced, following the Black Lives Matter marches throughout the nation.
While visiting a London shopping centre on Sunday ahead of its reopening, Boris Johnson said, "We have to have acknowledge that when thousands of people march peacefully, for Black Lives Matter, you know you can't ignore that."
The prime minister also said that there is a "success story" saying that "you have far more black and minority ethnic people, now going to university".
"We stop the discrimination, we stamp out racism, and we start to have a real sense of expectation of success. That's, that's where I want to get to, but it won't be easy," said Johnson.
