“Archaeological map of Bulgaria” is a legally established national archaeological information system containing collected data for archaeological sites on the territory of Bulgaria. Different types of standardisation have always played a leading role in the information system. ARIADNE project gave a lot of opportunities. Some of these included mapping the data to a standardised vocabulary and the metadata to a standardised reference model, translation in English, accessi-bility of legacy data, spatial location of archaeological sites, dataset publication and availability at an international level, overcoming fragmentation and isolation. Problems encountered and ontological mapping are also discussed. ARIADNEplus gives more possibilities to focus in details on 3D visualisation of artefacts and archaeological sites.
