(Aired 03/03/2024) Channel NYCTV-life (WNYE) - Romanian TV of New York (RTVNY). The Romanian Fashion Showcase Program Third Edition organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in NY in February 2024 presented Foraeva, the latest 3D printed fashion collection co-founded by fashion designer Lana Dumitru and architect Vlad Tenu. The collection is profoundly inspired by the Romanian traditional folk art. The Romanian blouse is re-imagined through computer science and new technology. Foraeva celebrates heritage and cultural legacy and their important place for future generations. It decodes and re-invents centuries-old graphics and motifs through computational design. The exhibition was presented during the NY Fashion week 2024, having been previously shown at the Milano Design Week. Lana Dumitru was presented by Forbes with "the best young Romanian fashion designer" award. Her work has been showcased at London Fashion Week/ International Fashion Showcase, Strasbourg Fashion week, Malmo Design Centre Sweden, Salone del Mobile Milano, National Village Museum Bucharest among others. Her originality comes form the fact that she designs all her visuals and patterns through digital printing, laser cutting and digital prototyping. Lana Dumitru is the first Romanian designer to officially collaborate with Puma (Puma T7 Ethno Shake jacket). With many collections in her portfolio which she describes as "wearable opinions" she received acclaim from various design competitions. Vogue, New York Times, La Repubblica published her work. Lana Dumitru earned a PhD in Digital Arts and Fashion. Her design studio is based in Lisbon. Vlad Tenu is a Romanian-British architect based in London. His experimental and cross-disciplinary work includes site specific sculptural installations, exhibition pavilions, public art as well as creative collaborations with international brands such as Swarovski International and CLON8. Vlad Tenu has also been involved in teaching at The Bartlett (University College of London) and has given lectures at leading academic institutions including Cooper Union in NY. Vlad Tenu studied architecture in Iasi, Lisbon and London at the Bartlett UCL .
