Screws play a vital role in full arch surgery. Most screws have a specific and limited use. The butt head screws do not have enough material underneath the screw head which would eventually cause fracturing. Angulated screws also have massive, angled screw channels that weaken the zirconia.
Screws needed for prosthesis vary by prosthesis type. For example, FP1 and FP3 need different screws because FP3 is taller than PF1, so you need a taller screw if you’re doing a FP3 case. The deeper the screw, the more turns you can go into the screw. More turns equate to more retention.
