The messaging program WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has improved video calling with the addition of speaker highlight and screen sharing that supports audio.
Furthermore, WhatsApp plans to raise the maximum number of participants in video calls to 32, in line with the previously announced screen-sharing feature.
With these improvements, WhatsApp's video calling features now match those of Apple's FaceTime, which can accommodate up to 32 people at a time. In contrast, the basic tiers of Zoom and Google Meet allow for up to 100 attendees. During a video call, the new speaker highlight function makes the person speaking stand out on the screen by automatically highlighting them.
